Living with his mom Lorraine, Riley is a ten month old pup, acquired from a neighbor. As with many ridgeback crosses, Riley's origins have been described as anything from a Great Dane and Lab Cross to a Shepherd and Lab. If not for the age difference, and once he grows into his ears, Riley could easily be mistaken for Ebbey's litter mate. Hopefully we'll see a photo of him when he gets older.
Riley and Lorraine are currently in obedience and dog socialization class, but are considering Search and Rescue training. While Rhodesian Ridgebacks are a more difficult breed to train for advanced skills like SAR, Riley could be the exception. He has a great personality and as Lorraine says 'He has the Life of Riley'. UPDATE...Now two years old, Riley has come a long way. He and his mom Lorraine are preparing for K-9 Good Citizen and Therapy Dog Certification, instead of search and rescue training. Riley is always happy and loves to be outside, winter or summer.
