Ebbey's Tooth Extraction Surgery
Ebbey's Healing Log 2 Allex Michael: Ebbey's back leg coordination improving but slept on the main level just in case. The odd little whimper, but surprisingly little whining for such a normally vocal dog. She tried to look for coyotes, but just ended up falling asleep.
Saturday 8 am Third meal: Two thirds of a regular meal in blender with antibiotic pill. (Clavamox which is an antibiotic called amoxicillin, should be administered with food as it can cause nausea on an empty stomach.) Beef, beef liver and some Bartlett pear. She licked from plate. Still somewhat drowsy, but got up to eat half way through. Surprising, since she normally cons me into spoon feeding her whenever possible.
Also administered first liquid oral dose of Metacam: non–steroidal anti–inflammatory drug (NSAID) and pain reliever.
One small bowel movement, then a few minutes later liquified stools on the second round. Piddling better. Will cut back normal dose of vitamin C until stools firm up.
Saturday afternoon: Ebbey still acting impaired. ie: late reaction to stimulus and tried to bark at paper blowing in the wind. Lower eyelids still a bit droopy.
