Ebbey's Tooth Extraction Surgery
Ebbey's Prison Break Allex Michael: Dogs don't understand what's going on. So in Ebbey's mind she was back in prison. For a kennel phobic dog, even under anaesthesia, lying in a kennel is basically torture. Ebbey is a hound, and when I returned inside around lunch, she was doing what a spoiled hound dog does: excruciatingly loud talk whining.
They were letting me take her home early, because as Andrea (vet tech) said, they knew I'd take care of her. I'm sure her loud howl whining and me sitting sleep deprived in the car also had something to do with it.
After Andrea (vet tech) explained Ebbey's drug schedule and answered my questions about feeding etc, another customer came in. As several staff had gone to lunch, I was allowed to go back and get Ebbey. This worked out great as it appeared that I had snuck back to rescue her. The talk whining stopped the moment she saw me.
She was barely able to stand at 12:20pm, but more than willing to participate in her escape. She was still wearing her chest harness and I brought a 4 inch wide webbing strap with handles to support her gut. And off we went, with Ebbey making a staggering beeline to the door. Andrea came to help get Ebbey into the car. But I told Ebbey to jump and she gave it a good try with some power lifting from me. I got her up onto the driver's seat and into the back.
Without any hind leg coordination, I had to rearrange her as she laid on the back seat. During the ride home, she raised her head a couples times to watch the passing scenery, but mostly just laid there basking in the sunshine.
