Finding a New VetAllex Michael: When I first adopted Ebbey, she was vomiting up to seven times a day. Then within a few weeks, she began itching and chewing herself to death. Many drugs were offered, with little success, and none of the vets I saw could offer a diagnosis. It turns out Ebbey had allergies and I am disenchanted to have made this discovery on my own. So, now that Ebbey has a cracked tooth, I need to find a new vet.
My first choice was a holistic vet, however just a consult is 230 dollars. I then phoned around to find out tooth extraction costs. Most vets would not give any prices over the phone. They would only give me a price after I first paid for a 60 to 80 dollar consultation. Knowing the incredible price range for similar veterinary care in Calgary, I no longer go to any consults without some kind of price estimate. The six rough quotes for a tooth extraction ranged from 300 to 1100. The Cochrane Animal Clinic was the second lowest quote, but more importantly, I had two separate recommendations for this vet. People whom I had met by coincidence while walking Ebbey.
Cochrane is a small town about 15 miles (25km) north west of downtown Calgary.
Of course it's a long weekend and can't get into the vet until Wednesday.
Playing the search dog, Ebbey has a leading role in the eerie action thriller Search Dog's Raven. Her character is paramount, because the key to unlocking the film's unique twist turns out to be the 'Search Dog's...Raven.
